I built Unpaused while currently very much in my pause — and genuinely loving it, which somehow also feels like something I'm not supposed to say out loud. Caregiving isn't valued in our society as it should be — and I want to change that. We all know to call our moms when something needs to get done, it's time companies figured that out too.

Here's what nobody tells you: stepping away from a career you worked hard for takes more courage than staying. Everyone acts like you gave something up. I didn't give anything up, I made a choice — a hard, intentional, no-apology choice to be where I needed to be right now. And I've already learned more about myself and my capabilities in this season than in any job I've ever had, I know that when I'm ready to return, nothing will be able to stop me.

Many of the moms who inspire me most are the ones who paused. They're asking the hard questions, thinking differently, and quietly building the next version of themselves while the world isn't watching, these are the women I want to build for.
